MarketScan Lead Offering Manager, Merative


Luke Boulanger is an academically-trained health economist, specializing in health economics and outcomes research for 26 years, with a focus on the design, implementation, and dissemination of real-world observational studies. He is the current Lead Offering Manager for the MarketScan Research Database. Boulanger leads the MarketScan database offering efforts at Merative and directed hybrid and retrospective observational studies that employed real-world data that analyze a wide variety of clinical and economic data. He has experience acquiring, linking, managing, and analyzing data from multiple sources/sites health records, prospective surveys, health-related national surveys, clinical trials, chart reviews, and other prospective studies. Boulanger has extensive experience in numerous therapeutic areas, including oncology, diabetes, chronic pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and atrial fibrillation, and has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications during his career in journals such as Diabetes Care, COPD, HIV Medicine, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and Neurology. Boulanger earned an MA (ABD) in Economics from the University of New Hampshire, an MBA from Plymouth State College, and a BS in Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
