Merative Cúram v8.1.2.0 includes key enhancements to our portal capabilities, caseworker efficiency, and developers productivity.
Persona based portal – Additional portal capability:
• We are excited to announce the expansion of our modern portal capabilities. Our enhanced solution empowers clients to build portals tailored to new personas, including authorized representatives.
• To support clients in building tailored portals, we will be providing a sample portal and guidance to demonstrate how this capability can be implemented.
Caseworker efficiency - Multilingual support:
• Multilingual support provides efficiency gains for caseworkers by displaying the interface in the user’s language of choice removing need for on-the-fly translation.
• In v8.1.2.0, we are extending multilingual support in Cúram to cater for the display of eligibility results throughout the caseworker application.
Developer Productivity:
• Introduced a hook-point into the payments generation process so that developers can compliantly customize the logic that determine payments due and thus meet specific agency requirements.

Universal Access (UA) Responsive Web Application v7.3.0 - released on 19 September 2024 (What’s New)
Links with different names pointing to the same URL (SPM-135314) Previously, the user’s dashboard and the ‘Your Account’ links pointed to the same URL. Now, both links have the same intuitive name ‘Your Account’. (DT037015)
Missing File extension and File size errors during file upload (SPM-136177) Previously, when using the File Upload button on the Your Documents page, only errors for files without a document type provided were notified in the Error Alert. For example, errors about wrong file extensions or files too large were not included in the Alert, they were only shown in the FilePicker button inline error. This is now fixed and all errors independent of the error type are included in the Alert and linked to their field for immediate action.
Missing errors during file upload when more than one file is added (SPM-136163) Previously, when more than one file containing file type validation errors was uploaded to the ‘Your Documents’ page, the alert message displayed only one error instead of an error for each file added. This is now fixed and all file type validation errors are shown in the AlertP.
Your Documents - Hidden file shown (SPM-136176) Previously, when selecting files in Your Documents to be uploaded, there was an edge-case scenario where an empty file without a name would appear in the selected files list. To reproduce it, the user needed to successfully select a file, then click the FilePicker button to select a second file but cancel the action instead of using the Cancel button in the file directory modal. This is now fixed and this edge-case scenario is no longer reproducible.
Alert notes not semantically connected to read-only checkboxes (SPM-135481) Previously, notes contained within alerts associated with read-only checkboxes were not semantically connected with either the check box or the Next button and could not be tabbed to. So when a screen reader was used the note appeared to be standalone when read out. This is now fixed and users can focus on the read-only checkbox and the screen reader reads out the associated alert. The same fix also applies to Radiobuttons, Dropdowns and TextInput fields (DT037021)
Visual separator not excluded from screen reader announcements (SPM-135171) Previously, there were Horizontal Rule elements used across the application as decorative visual elements and they were not excluded from screen reader announcements. These visual elements have been replaced (using CSS border) or hidden from screen reader access (via aria-hidden=true). They are now excluded from the screen reader announcements. (DT037034)
Cúram Design System (DS) v7.3.0 - released on 19 September 2024 (What's New)
7.3.0 (19 September 2024) readOnly property added to checkboxes and dropdowns (SPM-135481) A new readOnly property has been added to checkboxes and dropdowns which allows the fields to have focus and enables screen readers to interact with the field.
New navigation property added to the Tabs component (SPM-133137) The Tabs component has a new asNavigation property to control the markup that it renders ensuring when it is used, the markup and aria attributes are correctly rendered.

Cúram Education Offerings
Listing of Cúram courses with the abstract for each lesson and exercise
New Courses for Cúram v8.x:
- CUR090 – Merative Cúram for Developers (ADE) 8.X: This self-paced course provides learners with a technical understanding of the Cúram Application Development Environment (ADE). This course provides a solid grounding in the Cúram model-driven development approach and ADE. It presents an architectural overview of the Cúram application and introduces ADE features and tools for modeling, coding, building, and troubleshooting applications. During the course, learners will design and implement a simple end-to-end application using many ADE client and server features.
- CUR091 – Merative Cúram for Developers (Customization) 8.X: This course introduces learners to the techniques that are used to customize Cúram out-of-the-box (OOTB) solutions for Cúram implementation projects. The course describes the approach for customizing OOTB applications compliantly and how to customize client and server artifacts, including source code and non-source code artifacts. The course then outlines how REST and web services are used to integrate with external applications and how custom features can be implemented using events, deferred processes, and batch processes. Finally, the course outlines the approaches for localizing, supporting, and upgrading Cúram. During the course, learners will also perform impact analysis on OOTB applications and implement compliant customizations.
