In the spotlight

Merative Cúram v8.1.2.0 includes key enhancements to our portal capabilities, caseworker efficiency, and developers productivity.

Persona based portal – Additional portal capability:

  • We are excited to announce the expansion of our modern portal capabilities. Our enhanced solution empowers clients to build portals tailored to new personas, including authorized representatives.
  • To support clients in building tailored portals, we will be providing a sample portal and guidance to demonstrate how this capability can be implemented.

Caseworker efficiency - Multilingual support:

  • Multilingual support provides efficiency gains for caseworkers by displaying the interface in the user’s language of choice removing need for on-the-fly translation.
  • In v8.1.2.0, we are extending multilingual support in Cúram to cater for the display of eligibility results throughout the caseworker application.

Developer Productivity:

  • Introduced a hook-point into the payments generation process so that developers can compliantly customize the logic that determine payments due and thus meet specific agency requirements.

Universal Access (UA) Responsive Web Application v7.0.2 - released on 27 June 2024 (What’s New)

  • Enhanced framework for building external applications. The Cúram Web Design System is a framework for building external web applications. It uses modern technologies, such as React JavaScript, and comes with a Design System tailor-made for providing an accessible user experience that works in browsers on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Intelligent Evidence Gathering (IEG) Script Guidance - is a rapid development tool for building and publishing forms online. While IEG provides a powerful set of scripting constructs to enable form building, it can sometimes take time to translate complex customer requirements into appropriate IEG solutions.
  • React-Scripts replaced with Vite. Previously, ‘React-scripts’ was used to build, bundle, and run Universal Access. In 2023, it was deprecated, forcing us to find a replacement. Vite, the standard build tool for the web development community, now replaces React-Scripts as our build and bundling tool.
  • Replaced source-map-explorer with rollup-plugin-visualizer. Previously, the ‘source-map-explorer’ was used to generate bundle size statistics. Now, the tool ‘rollup-plugin-visualizer’ is used, which generates a bundles treemap (a rectangular hierarchical diagram of your project bundles), allowing you to analyze the structure and size of your dependency bundles.
  • New Script and Procedure for Citizen Engagement (CE) Dependencies Installation. Previously, you could only install the Citizen Engagement project dependencies manually one-by-one. Now, these dependencies can be installed via the command line using a new script install-ce-deps.
  • Support for Node 20. Previously, UA supported Node 16 & 18. Now, support is provided for Node 18 & 20.

Cúram Design System (DS) v7.0.2 - released on 27 June 2024 (What's New)

  • The Cúram Web Design System is a framework for building external web applications. In this release, the design system supports authentication of external users of any type, not just citizens seeking benefit. For example, an external user might be a child welfare-mandated reporter or an authorized representative from a community-based organization tasked with helping citizens apply for benefits. As the design system comes with significant support for calling Cúram Web APIs, you can quickly build solutions for any users that depend on data and business operations in the Cúram application. The Web Design System also supports theming of applications to match existing agency themes or to build applications with distinct themes if required.

New Courses for Cúram v8.x:

  • CUR090 – Merative Cúram for Developers (ADE) 8.X: This self-paced course provides learners with a technical understanding of the Cúram Application Development Environment (ADE). This course provides a solid grounding in the Cúram model-driven development approach and ADE. It presents an architectural overview of the Cúram application and introduces ADE features and tools for modeling, coding, building, and troubleshooting applications. During the course, learners will design and implement a simple end-to-end application using many ADE client and server features.
  • CUR091 – Merative Cúram for Developers (Customization) 8.X: This course introduces learners to the techniques that are used to customize Cúram out-of-the-box (OOTB) solutions for Cúram implementation projects. The course describes the approach for customizing OOTB applications compliantly and how to customize client and server artifacts, including source code and non-source code artifacts. The course then outlines how REST and web services are used to integrate with external applications and how custom features can be implemented using events, deferred processes, and batch processes. Finally, the course outlines the approaches for localizing, supporting, and upgrading Cúram. During the course, learners will also perform impact analysis on OOTB applications and implement compliant customizations.
